Think You Know George Washington?

I did. I thought I knew that he was a great general (he made a number of mistakes), I thought I knew about his marriage (he was likely in love with his best friend's wife), and regarding his desire to be remembered? I knew nothing. Then I read His Excellency, by Joseph J. Ellis. And now I can say that I really do know George Washington. For instance, did you know he was immune to smallpox because of a trip to Barbados when he was young? He ordered that only soldiers with pockmarks be involved with the Boston evacuation in 1776 because he understood the immunity.
My favorite story is the one in which Washington upends a military coup by putting his glasses on. You'll have to read the biography to find out how his officers reacted.
